Course program

This unique program is a result of our twenty years experience in the world of professional training of various categories of students. It expresses of our understanding the most efficient and complete way of preparation for real work as Quality Assurance Specialist. This program is not designed as “crush” or online imitation of learning, but instead focuses on providing all our trainees with an opportunity to learn skills required on the modern QA market in classical pace and classroom environment. The courses are lead by a group of instructors who are working professionals in their field. Only this Hands-on, Instructor-lead and carefully developed Comprehensive Classroom Training can prepare students to obtain and maintain successful employment in Quality Assurance. This will work even for people without extensive background in information technology field.

This classroom program introduces student to All the subjects needed to find and maintain employment in modern Software Quality Assurance environment. Students will receive hands-on training in the following sections:

I. Manual Testing - It teaches the fundamentals of organizing the project and preparing the test plan.

II. Agile Methodology and Scrum - The agile methodology of software development marks a considerable departure from traditional sequential development (“waterfall”). In fact, many aspects of agile are so drastically different from waterfall that it is often helpful for individuals who are new to agile to take a course to better understand its principles and practices.

III. Understanding Relational Databases and SQL - Provides students with the understanding of database concepts and the essentials of the SQL language. Through a series of hands-on activities you will learn data selection and manipulation using multi-vendor compliant SQL syntax.

IV. Introductory UNIX - Familiarizes students with UNIX environment and provide them with hands on experience using very powerful and popular in corporate world Operating System (OS). The instructions include customizing user's environment, file manipulation commands and file permissions, introduction to vi-Editor, some basic and intermediate UNIX commands that will help you get your job done quicker and simpler and simple scripting which will show you the power of automation.

V. Quality Center/TestDirector Concepts - Provides students with the skills necessary to use Quality Center for test management. Covers the features and capabilities of Quality Center.

VI. Testing with QuickTest Professional - Gives you a comprehensive understanding of QuickTest Professional as an automated functional testing tool. During this course topics such as recording and running tests, adding synchronization points and verification steps, modularizing and reusing tests will be covered. You will manage objects in the Object Repository, and use the Object Spy tool to view object properties at run time. Also discussed: Advanced features of QTP and test creation through scripting in the Expert View.

VII. Selenium Fundamentals - Familiarizes students with the basics of testing web applications using Selenium. Testers will learn how to build, enhance, and maintain scripts using both the Selenium IDE and the Selenium 2 and some advanced techniques in this section.

VIII. Introduction to LoadRunner - Provides comprehensive overview of LoadRunner fundamentals, how to utilize LoadRunner’s basic features to automate performance and load testing processes before, during and after it's distributed to the end-users.

IX. Introduction to Python - Python for people with little programming experience. The first exercises work on basic Python concepts like strings and lists, building up to the later exercises which are fully functioning programs dealing with text files, processes, and http connections. You do not need to be an expert programmer to use this material.

X. Basic Elements of Financial Analysis - Overview of basic concepts and methods employed by financial industry. Students will introduced to fundamentals of Economics, Financial Markets, Financial Products and Instruments, Major processing streams of financial institutions and Wall Street Terminology utilized.

XI. FIX Protocol Fundamentals - The Financial Information exchange ("FIX") Protocol is the industry-driven messaging standard that is changing the face of the global financial services sector, as firms use the protocol to transact in an electronic, transparent, cost efficient and timely manner. FIX is open and free, but it is not software. Rather, FIX is a specification around which software developers can create commercial or open-source software. As the market's leading trade-communications protocol, FIX is integral to many order management and trading systems.

Each element can be taken separately.

This program is valuable for people even without extensive background in information technology field, and who are interested in learning methods of assuring quality performance for newly designed software. After this program students will be well prepared for real work as Quality Assurance Specialist acquiring broad variety of major QA and various auxiliary skills including skills necessary to work in any industry including finance and banking.
